Wile E. Coyote
Super Genius

My fanaticism with Wile E. Coyote comes from a sort of empathy.

There's one gag in one cartoon where Wile has two trap doors between two overhanging cliff. The trap doors have rocks on them and are held in place by a peg connected to a string. When that bloody bird runs through the gap, Wile pulls the peg, but in true Wile fashion the rocks don't fall.

Wile fumes and gets a big stick and stands under the rocks and furiously attempts to dislodge them using the stick. Bits off rubble drop of and land on Wiles' head.

Slowly it starts to seep into Wiles' consciousness that this might not be the best of ideas and he starts to bang away with less vigour. He suddenly gets out a little sign that says:

"In Gods own name, what am I doing?"

He then gets out a little umbrella, which is frankly inadequate protection, and all the rocks drop on his head.

This is my life.

I have ideas, creative ideas, brilliant ideas and I throw myself into them whole-heartedly. Then I suddenly realise that there's a flaw and I think "In Gods own name what am I doing." Then the metaphorical rocks drop on my head.
